Hey, I’m Emil!
I’m a filmmaker living in New York City. I’ve been writing, directing, producing, and editing short films since 2021. I grew up in Miami and graduated with a BFA in Motion Pictures Business from the University of Miami. I’m currently a Creative Producing MFA candidate at Columbia University.
Wilson Benavidez and I founded DOPPIO ENTERTAINMENT in 2022 with the intent of creating a safe, creative, and welcoming environment on any films we produce.
In my senior year of college, I served as a Development Intern at Dolphin Entertainment, giving me hands-on experience writing coverage and creating casting grids
Since moving to New York and beginning my MFA Program, I’ve continued to write and direct short films and am a part of a filmmaking collective called GEM JALCKY. Collaboration is the most important skill any filmmakers needs to master and I’m incredibly lucky to be surrounded by such a creative, talented, and hard-working group of friends who I also call my collaborators.
I am currently distributing my short film, CAFFEINE HIGH in film festivals. My other project is a feature film, currently in the development phase. In July 2024, I filmed a proof-of-concept short film titled memento mori that is currently in post-production.
